Receiving and Shipping

Run every receipt and shipment from one screen

Receipts, shipments and adjustments move through clear stages on one screen, with lots, serials, dock times and shipping documents on the same record.

The problem

When receiving, shipping, dock times and paperwork sit in separate tools, clerks key the same transaction more than once and supervisors cannot see what is ready to commit.

With Argos

Transaction profiles set the defaults and checks for each kind of receipt, shipment or adjustment, a clerk converts orders that arrive by EDI or the web into warehouse work, and supervisors commit finished transactions to inventory in batches after a preview.

What receiving and shipping covers

17 capabilities, each with its own page.

Receiving, Shipping and Adjustments

Receive, ship and adjust stock from one screen

Your team handles every receipt, shipment and adjustment in one web screen, from planning through completion. Follow-up work, like capturing a signature or copying a transaction, happens right on the record.

  • One screen covers receipts, shipments and adjustments, with scheduling, transportation, labor and (once completed) charges tabs
  • Each transaction moves through clear stages: Plan, Future, Pending, Ready and Completed
  • Capture a signature on screen and save it to the transaction

EDI and Web Order Conversion

Turn EDI and web orders into warehouse work

Orders that arrive by EDI or as web orders land in one management screen, where a clerk reviews them and converts each into a warehouse receipt or shipment with one action.

Warehouse Transaction Profiles

Set the rules once for each type of transaction

Reusable transaction profiles carry the defaults and checks for each kind of receipt, shipment or adjustment, so clerks start every record with the right settings.

Labels, Picking Slips and Bills of Lading

Print labels, picking slips and bills of lading

Print the paperwork your floor runs on: receiving, shipping, item, location and SSCC labels, picking slips, bills of lading in several formats, packing lists and receipt confirmations.

How it holds up

Each point is traced to the software and links to the capability behind it.

Where it fits in the day

From the dock door to the reorder. The highlighted steps are covered on this page.

  1. This area

    Inbound trucks booked and approved

Receiving appointments are booked and requested times are approved or rejected from one list.

  2. This area

Every receipt and shipment on one record

Every receipt, shipment and adjustment is handled on one record, from planning through completion.

  3. Find stock by location and move it on record

Stock is found by item, lot or location, with the free space in each location shown for the next inbound load.

  4. This area

Warehouse hours on record, not on paper

Each worker's activity and time are recorded against the work, so warehouse hours are on record instead of on paper.

  5. Count stock and review every variance

The warehouse counts stock from selection through reviewed variances to count adjustments.

  6. Reorder from the stock you have

Items are checked against on hand and available stock and turned into purchase requisitions or orders in one run.

  7. Report on stock, locations and activity

Standard reports show what you hold, where it sits and what moved.

Questions buyers ask

Straight answers, drawn from what the software does today.

Can receiving, shipping and adjustments be handled in one screen?

Yes. One web screen covers receipts, shipments and adjustments, with scheduling, transportation, labor and, once a transaction is completed, charges tabs. Each transaction moves through Plan, Future, Pending, Ready and Completed stages.

How are dock doors assigned to appointments?

You pick the date and start time from the offered slots, and Argos assigns the first free dock door in pick sequence. Only open days up to two months out are offered, and slots follow each warehouse's hours, breaks, load duration and blocked-out times.

Can we approve or reject requested appointment times?

Yes. Requested times are approved, rejected or reverted to pending from one list, and each appointment shows the carrier, planned and actual date and time, approval status and driver reference.

How do EDI and web orders become warehouse work?

Incoming EDI transactions and web orders land on their own tabs in one management screen. A clerk reviews each one and converts it into a warehouse receipt or shipment in one step, or deletes an unwanted order before it reaches the floor.

Which shipping documents and labels can we print?

Simple bills of lading, receipt put-away documents, consolidated picking slips with locations, barcode labels carrying SSCC numbers and a UCC shipping label per serial number. Up to four documents set on the transaction profile print straight from the entry screen.

Can we record warehouse labor by customer and activity?

Yes. Each labor entry records the worker, customer, activity and work units, with time entered as start and end date and time or as elapsed hours and minutes.
