The XM module is a data mapping tool that supports the interchange of data with your trading partners. It allows EDI, ASCII and XML formatted data files to be imported and exported from ABECAS Insight. These may be new or updated transaction records, codes or availability/status type information. In importing transactions, the codes can be validated and, if missing, created based on requirements. As an export-import tool, the XM module allows each data field to be mapped, as relevant.

As part of the XM module, all ANSI X12 EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transaction sets are supported, including versions. The definition of each set is maintained within the module. A 997 transaction can be automatically generated in response to files received.

ASCII and XML files may be used where the data structure is proprietary. This allows for both simple and complex data layouts to be exchanged but is mapped in a similar manner.

The ABECAS Task Agent is used to manage the sending and receiving of files. This may be to an FTP site or to a VAN. A log is maintained of all files transferred and their status. Email alerts can be used to notify either party of issues or transmissions. The Task Agent is also used to manage the import process into ABECAS Insight.
